A CURATED SIX-COURSE DINING EXPERIENCE.
We are so excited and privileged to host you at Saltwell Kitchen. Reservations are available Friday and Saturday evenings.
Named for the salty wells built on the original 1856 McKinzie Farmstead, Saltwell Farm Kitchen is 20 minutes west of Lawrence and 20 minutes east of Topeka, nestled in a grove of walnut trees and native Kansas prairie land, just around the bend from Clinton Lake Beach Park.
Making a reservation for a loved one and want to pay their entire bill? Purchase an e-gift card or leave a card on file by calling 785.312.2498.
The Saltwell Experience is a three-to -four hour, farm-to-table tasting menu featuring six courses inspired by the seasons, local ingredients, neighboring farmers, and foraged foods —nestled in a shady walnut tree grove, surrounded by chickens, guineas, cats, and more, with the sound of goats and cows nearby—uniquely Saltwell.
Let us pour you wine or shake up your favorite craft cocktail as you dine under the stars (weather permitting) in a historic farmhouse setting. Sit back and relax as you enjoy chef’s choice, an intentional menu that changes weekly.
The Saltwell experience is unique to Kansas, and honors and celebrates our local farms, farmers and makers. Menus are not available until the dinner begins, as we edit and add ingredients according to availability, and some ingredients are foraged just hours before we begin.
Six course meal:
Couture cocktails, classic cocktails, beer, and wine by the glass vary in price.
Wine pairings are available for $40/person. Drink pairings come with four of the eight courses (each drink is approximately 3 oz) and begin with the fourth course. Many guests choose a glass of wine (starting at $9) or a couture cocktail (starting at $15) while enjoying the first three courses. Those who don’t choose the wine pairing option can choose wines by the glass, classic and couture cocktails, beer, and sodas.
Dinner starts at 6:30pm Fridays and Saturdays, and lasts approximately three hours. During the months of May through early October, we dine outdoors near the Potting Shed bar and culinary gardens. From mid October through the end of April, we dine inside our winter parlor around the antique wood-burning stove, in a candle-lit dining room and bar.
Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled reservation. You may cancel by phone or online. If you have to cancel your reservation, we offer you a credit to your account if you cancel before 48 hours, but do not offer a refund. You may use these credits for any future reservation. However, if you cancel prior to the 48 hours, you will retain the payment for the reservation.
Kindly note that gratuity is not factored into the meal cost, and guests are welcome to provide a tip at their discretion which goes to servers and the bar staff.
